I Kissed a Girl was a smash hit for Perry's album One of the Boys in 2008 due to the mix of excitement and melodicism. Hot N Cold, Perry's bouncy and sharply-tongued album with the song that was its second biggest hit was a hit. The album which Perry wrote herself, sold over three million copies.
